Puppy Shopping List

Congratulations on the purchase of your new puppy! We have come together with past buyers to provide a list of recommended products that we all find helpful when bringing home a new puppy. We recommend making these purchases before your new puppy comes home to provide the smoothest possible transition.

If you are not a first time dog owner, chances are you have several of the items listed below already. This shopping list is simply a guide for what you might need. Keep your dog's size (both now and in the future) in mind as you purchase supplies. We are not suggesting that all of these items are absolutely necessary, but want to give you some ideas and options of tools we've found to be helpful in our own raising of puppies.

Food & Treats

To meet your new puppy’s optimal nutritional needs we recommend Nu-Vet daily supplements. A multivitamin for your dog. We have more information on Nu-Vet supplement under the Nutrition tab.
We feed our puppies Costco Nature’s Domain (with Pedigree rice and chicken wet food mixed in). After a few months of your puppy adjusting to his/her new home you are welcome to switch to your preferred brand. HOWEVER, PLEASE WAIT A FEW MONTHS BEFORE SWITCHING.

Crates

Small - Medium (19-24in or 2000) size crate is a good size for Mini Doodles to grow with as most are 15-17” tall when full grown. We recommend the five foot round pen.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Bedding

 

Grooming

Tips: Bathe, clean ears and brush teeth every ten days. Brush hair daily, always brush before bath. Professional grooming every 3-6 months depending on desired “look” for your doodle. Use rounded scissors to clip around the eyes in between professional grooming. We recommend having your veterinarian perform nail clipping and anal glad expression (as needed).
